The exhibition Interference showcases textile art by Agnes Guttormsgaard (b. 1954), and both textile art and video works by Vebjørn Guttormsgaard Møllberg (b. 1984). The artist duo are mother and son. Interference presents works created by the two artists, both together and individually, covering the period from 1981 to 2025.
Interference
The title refers to a phenomenon in physics. Interference describes the situation where two or more waves meet at the same point and form a new wave pattern. In many of their works, Guttormsgaard and Møllberg are concerned with waves and their ripple effects. Metaphorically, the title also alludes to the duo’s artistic practice, where they influence and “disturb” each other (similar to the English term interference meaning intervention or disruption).
The works presented in the exhibition are a combination of pieces owned by the artists and loans from private individuals, as well as public and private collections.
On show in Room 1.
